The back needs to be flat and polished at least near the tip.

The two edges need to have no wore round corners between them and the back.

then the front bevel angle needs to be set for tho kind of material you will be chiseling.

Twin Harps - The Bard"s Song From The Hobbit

Another Great Musical Theme From The Hobbit

Camille and Kennerly have done it again performing The Bard’s Song from the Hobbit.

What I like about their videos is that in addition to the great sounding music is the actual video production.

The site, the backgrounds and the wardrobe. and they do most of that themselves.

Have a look and listen:

Do You Know The Table Saw Safety Rules?

A Table Saw Is One Of The Safest Saws – If You Follow The Rules

Not all table saws have the safety features that the newer saws have that are shown in this video. So follow the rules.

Rule #1 Keep your fingers away from the blade. Always have a push stick handy.

Rule #2 Never stand directly behind the blade. And orient your saw so no one else will be behind the blade.

Rule #3 Always use an off feed table. A 4 x 8 sheet of plywood on some saw horses works great.

Rule #4 Never let go of the piece of wood between the fence and the blade. Push it through till it is past the blade.

Rule #5 Keep the blade as low as possible – a 1/4″ above the thickness of the stock is OK.

Rule #6 Never allow a short piece of stock to lie free between the blade and another object (usually the fence) The piece can rotate and once it comes into contact with the teeth of the blade it will get flung to the farthest corner of your shop. Always push pieces through so they are well past the back side of the blade!

Poor Man"s Workbench - Skirts and Tool Well Glue UP

Video four in this workbench series – see what the workbench top is actually going to look like.

This bench top has a unique design in that it has a tool well in the middle.

This well is very handy in that it leaves the workbench top surface free to move the pieces being worked on to be moved around.

At the same time you have a handy place to put the tools you will be needing.
