This Is A Wind Turbine Generator For The Urban Environment

Made up of dozens of small turbines which start spinning an the slightest breeze.

If you want to see one in action, New Wind will be planting a prototype tree this coming March in Paris’ Place de la Concorde.

They will be going into production for deliveries in 2016.

They claim the trees pay for themselves in two years.

So, while it may look like a tree, it’s actually a power generation system and those “leaves” you see are mini wind turbines.

Each “leaf” is designed to be small in diameter.

This allows the rotor to complete multiple rotations quicker and take advantage of lower air flow, maximizing efficiency with only 2 meter’s per second of wind required!

That is amazing.  It means that this machine can use more days to produce energy vs traditional blades.
