Tool Caddy 3 - Rabbiting The Bottom Piece

I Love Rabbited Joints.

I learned the trade before biscuits and pocket screw and still think rabbits are the way to go.

I usually rabbit the sides and ends and set the bottom piece in.  This works well for plywood so you don’t see the end grain.  When doing it this way make sure you bevel or round over around the bottom so you don’t get splinters of wood breaking away as the caddy gets slid around.

Since Cody is using solid wood, the way he is doing it means the bottom will make a good wear surface and should last a lifetime.
